Madeleine Vionnet

A bitesize chunk of fashion history coming your way!

I am going to focus on a dress that you can buy in the Starplaza Shop, Decades. It was a real dress made by the couturier Madeleine Vionnet in 1939.
I honestly think that Stardoll's version doesn't do it justice. The original dress was designed in 1939 by Madame Vionnet herself, and her fashion house was all about the shape and form of the female body. I think that the Stardoll version is quite shapeless.
But anyway, Madame Vionnet was the dresser to the stars of the 30s, Katherine Hepburn, Greta Garbo and Marlene Deitrich. She is the "Queen of the Bias Cut"-a technique that revolutionised women's evening wear.

Over and Out!

Ah, the real life dress is so much more stylish, I agree. They could've at least made it more of a bronze colour rather than beige ;D Ha.

Good to see your writing the blog again! ;)
